Words cannot describe the feeling a parent has when their child makes the decision to ask Jesus into their heart. Matthew made his decision on April 3, 2011. This past weekend was Mother's Day. What better gift for a mother than watching her son get baptized and knowing he will spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus. I am so proud of Matthew and the decision he has made. A week ago he walked down the isle began taking the new Christians class at church. Amazing to watch him as he grows in his faith. Several family members were able to come to Texas this past weekend to watch Matthew get baptized. Those that weren't able to come were definitely here in spirit! They played a video of Matthew right before the baptism explaining what being a Christian means to him and what it was like the day he asked Jesus into his heart...it was precious. Mommy was definitely in tears by the time it was through playing. As the video ended, Matthew came out with the preacher and he was baptized...a beautiful moment I will always hold in my heart!
Nana, Papa Doc, Aunt Kara, Nate, Zac, Ben, Papaw Guy and Mamaw Shelia were all able to come in for the celebration. Not only did we celebrate Matthew's baptism, we also celebrated Papa Doc's 65th birthday and Mother's Day with my mom and Richard's mom. It truly was a wonderful weekend. Matthew was also excited that they all got to watch him play baseball and cheer on the Braves! We had such a great time catching up, swimming, eating, chasing kiddos, etc! Thanks to you all for coming and making this weekend extra special. We love you all! Here are some of the pictures from our weekend of fun!
