The Coppell Cowboys played in a one day tournament, The Easter Classic, the day before Easter. It was such a fun (but long) day! We won our pool play games 11-1 and 12-11. During the second game we were trailing 11-2 and came back to win!!! It was such an exciting game. During our first of the elimination games...we did it again! We were losing 9-2 and pulled out an 11-9 win! That put us in the finals. We ended up losing to a major team out of Ft Worth. We were super proud of our Cowboys!
On a side note...we were so proud of Matthew. He threw his first complete game and threw just under 60% strikes. Here is the write up from Game Changer.
Coppell-Cowboys Williams beat FBSA Riders-Plumer 11-1 in four innings on Saturday at Grimes Park #7 after a six-run explosion in the third inning. Coppell-Cowboys Williams scored in the third on an error, an RBI single by Carter Fields, an RBI single by Matthew Williams, and a two-run double by Mason Roach. Jonah Timmons had a hot bat for Coppell-Cowboys Williams. Jonah went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning. FBSA Riders-Plumer couldn't get anything going as long as Matthew Williams was on the rubber. FBSA Riders-Plumer managed just two hits off of the Coppell Cowboys- Williams pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work...
