A Visit to Arkansas...(sorry, this one is long!)

Matthew, Molly and I decided to make a trip to Arkansas this past week because Richard was in Tampa for training. We had a great time! We drove down after Matthew's soccer game on Saturday and enjoyed some outdoor time when we got to Nana and Papa Doc's house. Matthew always enjoys the dirt bike, dump trucks and mule rides!

We had a road trip each day and enjoyed seeing as much of the family as we could. Unfortunately we couldn't see everyone, but we look forward to seeing those we missed on our next trip! On Sunday we went to Hot Springs to spend some time with Mamaw Shelia, Papaw Guy, Mama Ball, Papaw Swarner, Aunt Ashley, Uncle Allan, Madisson, and Alleigh. We all met at Fisherman's Wharf for lunch and had a great time. Matthew enjoyed feeding the fish crackers with his cousins. After lunch we spent the afternoon at Mamaw Shelia and Papaw Guy's house. Matthew had fun working in the backyard and going on a long walk in the neighborhood with papaw. When they got back papaw informed me that Matthew sure was talkative and that he learned alot from Matthew...makes me kind of nervous!!! No telling what stories that boy told! Molly enjoyed playing with mamaw and tried to "crawl" to mamaw's glitter ball. Yes, she is trying her best to learn to crawl!

When we got back to Nana and Papa Doc's house, we had a cookout and Matthew played outside with Nate and Zac. As always, the boys had so much fun together. Molly and Ben also enjoyed their saucer time together!

Monday was a really special day. Nana, Kara and I took the kids to Little Rock to see our memaw and papa. My memaw has had a challenging few months and we thought it might do her some good to see these precious kiddos! Every moment we get to spend with them is a treasure and I am so thankful for the time we shared with them on Monday. Papa was ready to play and was dressed just as I remembered him growing up...in coveralls. If he wasn't in a suit he was dressed in his coveralls for fishing! He was ready for some playtime with the boys. They had a great time listening to him play the harmonica and going down to the fishing pond. Can you believe he is almost 92? He is pretty amazing! Memaw was in good spirits and seemed to enjoy watching the kids and visiting. As you can imagine, we couldn't get everyone in one place at one time for a picture...so here are some of the good ones I did manage to get!

Tuesday was our day in the country! We went to Aunt Kara's house to play at the river and see Nate play in his Tee Ball game that night. The kids had so much fun! It rained part of the day, which made wonderful mud puddles for the boys to play in! How can things get better than that? I love all the pictures of them in the mud! We also strolled the babies down to the river and watched the big boys play in the water and throw rocks. What a memorable day!

One of my favorite pictures!

We had a great week...thanks Nana and Papa Doc for taking good care of us while our daddy was gone! We had a wonderful visit!

Jenny, Richard should have called us when he was in Tampa! I'm glad y'all had such a good time in Arkansas. Those pictures of the mud and the boys in their overalls are too, too cute. Seriously, that picture of Matthew in the mud is absolutely adorable. That boy has a big, beautiful smile like his mama! And, Molly is just growing so much. It's precious how she and Ben are so close in age. Oh, and Gus was in my lap at the computer when I was looking at the pictures and when he saw the picture of Matthew on the BIG yellow dumptruck, he couldn't stop saying, "OH, LOOK! Mama, LOOK! OH, LOOK!" and pointing at it. He was very impressed! Love y'all, Ab
