This past weekend Richard celebrated Father's Day by working on a leak in our sprinkler system (fun, fun) and by taking Matthew on his first fishing trip to a pond near our house. Papaw Curtis had gotten him his first fishing pole and tackle box about a year ago, but Matthew had not used them yet. Once Richard and Matthew decided that they would go fishing, Matthew could hardly wait! He organized his tackle box, looked through daddy's tackle box, and then asked at least 10 times an hour when it would be time to go fishing! That sweet boy even wanted to sleep with his tackle box...thank goodness we talked him out of it. After we made breakfast for daddy, Matthew and Richard left to go catch some fish! Molly and I stopped by to cheer them on and see all the big fish they were catching...well, the fish seemed to be biting for the family fishing beside them, but not for my boys! At least they were nice enough to let Matthew touch their fish...he thought that was the greatest! All in all, it was a great day and Matthew cannot wait to go fishing again. Happy Father's Day to our wonderful fathers and grandfathers...we are so very blessed!
Still waiting...
Finally fishing
