Matthew's 4th Birthday Weekend!

Matthew turned 4 years old on Saturday...I can't believe it. I still feel like he should be waddling around in diapers! He is so much fun at this age because he loves being with us and he has the funniest things to say...he's our little buddy! He is such a joy to have in our lives and I am so thankful God gave him to us four years ago!

We had a great birthday weekend. As a matter of fact, I am still tired from all of the activities! Nana, Papa Doc, Aunt Kara, Uncle Tim, Nate, Zac, and Ben all arrived on Friday afternoon and the fun began! Matthew was counting down the hours until they got here, so you can imagine what a long day it was! After they arrived we let the boys go on a tractor ride. Nate and Zac always look forward to riding Matthew's "John Deere" (thanks Mamaw Shelia and Papaw Guy!). The rest of the day was just spent playing at the house and at the neighborhood playground. The kids had a great time and were ready for bed pretty early!

On Saturday, we started off the day with birthday donuts and a party at "Pump It Up". If you haven't ever been to Pump It Up, then you are missing out! It is a great place to run some energy out of the kids. There are two big rooms that are filled with bounce houses. All the kids got to play in both rooms and then headed to the party room for pizza and cake. We had a wonderful turnout...we are blessed with such wonderful friends! Matthew had such a good time and enjoyed having all his friends there to celebrate with him. I think he was quite overwhelmed! I believe we had 23 kids that were three and over and about 10 kids that were under three.

After the party we went back to our house to open presents and let the boys have a nap before the next big part of our weekend. After naps, the boys (Papa Doc, Richard, Tim, Nate, Zac, and Matthew) headed to the Great Wolf Lodge for some fun "boy time"! This place is quite amazing...it is a hotel with an indoor and outdoor waterpark. The guys stayed in the Kids Cabin Suite which had a mini log cabin inside with bunk beds for the kids. Can you imagine how much fun they had? They went to storytime, ate ice cream and pizza, went down waterslides, squirted water guns, played in the arcade and went on a magical quest to find the red dragon. By the end of the weekend, the whole crew was worn out! Nana, Kara, Ben, Molly and I went for a little while both days but enjoyed some "girl time" at the house on Saturday night. Thanks to everyone for making this such a great birthday celebration!
