Thanksgiving 2009 - Part Two

On Friday we went with Nana and Papa Doc to the Hunter Christmas Tree Farm for the last time! It has been a tradition for us to go to this tree farm on Thanksgiving Day for as long as I can remember. Every year we take the whole crew to the tree farm for hot apple cider and a hayride out to find Nana and Papa Doc's Christmas tree. The tree farm wasn't supposed to be open this year, but they decided to open for a few days to sell the last of their trees. This will definitely be their last year to be open. This was one of my favorite traditions, so I am so sad they are closing. I was happy we got one more chance to see the Hunters and thank them for all the great memories! Unfortunately we didn't know they were open on Thanksgiving Day, so everyone else missed out. After finding their tree, we headed home so the boys could put the lights on the tree...their favorite job! :)

This is the one!

Friday night Richard went to Lake Hamilton to watch the Wolves in a play-off game. He had a great time catching up with old friends and coaches and even went back to the fieldhouse after the game to watch the game film! He enjoyed spending some time with Coach Benson (his college football coach) and we all ended up going to the Ouachita girls basketball game on Saturday to see his granddaughter play. Fun times! Molly ran all over the bleachers and Matthew played on the court after the game with some other kiddos. I think he enjoyed his first basketball game. That day we also got to spend some time with Mamaw and Papaw Williams in Little Rock. The kids always have fun playing there and lovin' on the Williams! Thanks for a great time Mamaw and Papaw! Whew! When we got back to Nana and Papa Doc's house we went "through the woods" to play with the Pitts crew (Melissa and her 3 boys) at Cici's house. I always love seeing our kids play together...and guess what we realized this time??? There could be something in the future for Molly and Evan...they sure were flirting! After we left there, Matthew and Papa Doc roasted hot dogs and marshmallows in the fire pit. What a fun week! The last morning we were there Matthew wanted to go to breakfast with Papa Doc again. Midway through breakfast he climbed up in Papa's lap and fell asleep. I think we were all worn out by the time we headed back to Texas!
