What a great Christmas we had this year! I love the Christmas season and try to constantly remind my children of the real reason for the season. I am so thankful for the greatest gift of all...Jesus. It is so easy to get caught up in the commercialism of the holidays.
Christmas Eve is always such a fun night. This year we asked Santa to come a day early so we could enjoy hanging out in our pj's before heading to Arkansas to celebrate on Christmas day. On "our" Christmas eve, we always watch a Christmas movie, bake cookies for Santa and make reindeer food! This year the kids made sure they put out plenty of carrots for the reindeer and lots of cookies for Santa since he wouldn't be going to as many houses on this particular night. Think the reindeer have enough carrots? The kids also always sleep together on Christmas eve. They were so excited this year...Matthew had a hard time getting to sleep. Both kids made Christmas lists for Santa. Molly had two big requests...the Barbie dreamhouse and the "look like me" American girl doll that resembled Saige (the girl of the year last year). Matthew wanted a Bunjo chair and wanted to be surprised with the rest. Santa delivered!

We always take a picture on the staircase. We always did this growing up.
Last year we started asking Santa to bring just three gifts...the same number of gifts Jesus got. I really like the idea because the kids know what to expect and really think about what they want to ask for from Santa. We still give them presents as well...so they know there will be a few more surprises.
Matthew got a bunjo chair, Madden 15 Xbox game and an wing glider. Super fun!
Molly got the Barbie dreamhouse, an American girl doll and a jeep for her to ride in!

Molly heard him mention a remote control boat one time. She decided that was what she was getting him for Christmas. He loved it!
When Christmas was all done, we had the kids help us carry boxes out to the garage. Little did they know there was another surprise waiting...

We are so blessed and thankful for a wonderful holiday season. Looking forward to a great 2015!
