Matthew went to British Soccer Camp during the week of June 23-27. Several of his friends from school went, so he had a great time hanging out with them and learning a few new things about soccer! Camp was from 10:30-12:00, so you can imagine how HOT it was. Luckily, there was a pavilion by their practice field, so they had a nice place to go cool off. Matthew was on the team from Holland and proudly wore their flag painted on his face the last day. One of his favorite things to do at soccer camp was play the "crabby crab" game. From what I could gather, the "crabs" were supposed to keep the "surfers" from getting their soccer balls across the field. He had a great week and got a new soccer ball, t-shirt, and a nice evaluation from Coach Mike. All in all, I would say it was worth sitting in the heat and watching our little guy learn more about the sport of soccer and being part of a team. Molly was a trooper and endured the heat like a champ...one of these days it will be her turn!
