We went to Horseshoe Bay over the 4th of July and had a great time. I love this resort because everything seems to slow down here and you just have good, old-fashioned fun. We enjoyed swimming, fishing (Molly caught three fish!), bean bag toss, putt-putt, dive in movies at night, smores and riding on wave runners. The kids had never been on a wave runner, so we rented two for an hour and had a blast checking out the lake. Of course, Molly was the one wanting to go full speed and Matthew was a little more cautious. We also enjoyed watching "The Sandlot" on the lawn one night and watching the 4th of July fireworks from the Yacht Club. We had great family time and even competed in a few ping pong tournaments before the week was over. Matthew and Molly both participated in their first tennis clinic as well. It was so much fun doing things that were not our "normal". I can't wait to go back next year and make some more fun memories!
On the way home we stopped by Fossil Rim, a wildlife preserve that you drive through and feed the animals. My camera wasn't working, so I didn't really get any good pictures. Here is one from my phone. The kids loved having all the animals come up to the car to eat. Daddy even got slobbered on and snotted on...funny!
