Molly's Baptism

This precious girl got baptized a few weeks ago!  We have always prayed that our children would come to know Jesus as their Lord as their Savior.  Molly asked Jesus into her heart on her daddy's birthday, September 4, 2013.  On this particular night, we were saying our bedtime prayers and she said she wanted to ask Jesus into her heart.  She felt him "knocking" on her heart.  She had brought this up before, but, being that she is so young, we discussed it each time but chose to keep praying about it.  However, this night was different.  She was so insistent on asking Him into her heart and wanted me to go get daddy to come up and pray with us.  Who was I to stop the Holy Spirit? :) I decided to have Richard come up so we could both talk with her about it.  After we prayed to ask Jesus into her heart, I wish you could have felt the emotion in the room.  Tears were streaming down Molly's face and she had the biggest grin I've ever seen.  She was so happy and we felt that it was so genuine and heartfelt.  Jesus chose to move in her heart and in her five year old mind she understood.  Over the next few months, Molly met with the children's pastor at our church, attended a new Christians class for several weeks and went down in front of the church to publicly let everyone know she loves Jesus!  She has been celebrating ever since.  Molly was baptized on February 22, 2014 at Prestonwood Baptist Church.  It was such a special night, as our friend from Ouachita, Jarrett Stephens, was able to baptize her.  Jarrett was also the pastor that baptized Matthew.  Several family members and friends were there to celebrate in this joyful time with Molly!  Can't wait to see what God will do in this sweet girl's life!

Nana and Papa Doc gave Molly such a special gift.  Nana gave Molly her "add a bead" pearl necklace from when she was 7.  She had saved it all these years...she even had the original box!  I know this will be a special treasure for her to pass down to her daughter one day.  Nana had one bead removed so it has six beads to remind her that she got baptized when she was six.  So special.

This weekend was so jam-packed with fun!  We went to Matthew's last basketball game, went to see the Lego Movie and the dine-in theater and made pizzas and swam after the baptism.  I think we were all worn out after such a fun weekend!
